MEET CHASE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2019
Smokey Row Coffee, 1910 Cottage Grove,
- Chase has been an enthusiastic defender of gun rights against the city council who is trying their best to threaten the Second Amendment in Iowa
- Chase has several policies to stop criminalizing homelessness and help those people in that situation to get out of it with compassion and temporary resources (tiny houses and city beautification projects) to turn their lives around.
- Chase will simply lower property taxes, decrease regulations (including the horrible zoning law recently passed) to promote economic opportunity, and legalize cannabis in the city of Des Moines.
- Chase is a millennial US Army veteran with a proven record of service overseas and here in Des Moines running against 3 political insiders all over 60. It’s time for a change!
Chase spoke with the Polk County Libertarians earlier this year. He said the role of the mayor is about setting policy and providing a vision. To make sure the mayor’s vision and policy are good for the city, Chase proposes tying the mayor’s compensation to the economic well-being in the city. Zoning should be used to stimulate that well-being. Property tax should be tied to land and not penalize people for improving the quality of their homes. All neighborhoods of the city should receivefair attention to their infrastructure and quality-of-life needs, not just the downtown area. Chase’s military work has given him experience managing large budgets, setting goals and being held accountable, and working with a wide variety of people and cultures.
