2019 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

If you are a Des Moines resident and looking for a shake up in municipal government, 2019 is your year. The mayor and city council are considered non-partisan officers and candidates do not run on a political party. Polk County Libertarians are proud to claim 3 of our own as candidates, nonetheless. On November 5, 2019, we urge you to vote Chase Holm for Mayor, Marco Battaglia for City Council At-Large, and Toya Johnson for City Council Ward 4. If you are an Urbandale resident, we remind you there is a primary vote for At-Large City Council that will be held on October 8, 2019.

2020 ELECTIONS

The Libertarian Party of Iowa has set caucuses for February 8, 2020, and the state convention for February 29, 2020. We will have an early state convention due to the passage of HF692 in the last legislative session. Candidates running under the designation of Libertarian for state offices must file their nominating papers by March 13, 2020, far earlier than in prior years.
