GET READY TO CAUCUS
The Libertarian Party of Iowa will hold precinct caucuses and county conventions on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Polk County Libertarians encourage all registered Libertarians in the county to join us as we cast our ballots in a preferential candidate for president poll, elect new members and leadership for our central committee, and build our base for the work ahead in 2020 to regain political party status in Iowa for the Libertarians.
Polk County Libertarians will caucus at 2 pm (sign in starting at 1:40 pm) at the East Side Library in Des Moines (2559 Hubbell Avenue). We hope to see you there. Not a Libertarian? Register online through the Secretary of State’s website. If you are caucusing in another county, your caucus time will be 1:00 pm with check-in starting earlier. Here is a list of where other counties will caucus.

Our next Business Meeting will be Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Urbandale Public Library, Urbandale. We seek to make our business meetings informational and a place to connect with fellow Libertarians, in addition to conducting necessary party business. We encourage you to join us.
Let’s Talk Liberty is an informal gathering and friendly discussion. Please join us for our next gathering on Saturday, February 1, 2020, 2:00-3:30 p.m. We will meet at the Hy-Vee Market Grill Express at 1700 Valley West Drive, West Des Moines. We will have a sign at the table where we are gathered so you can find us easily. Our topic will be public works and Libertarian philosophy. Yes, we will be talking about snow removal and potholes.
The Libertarian Party of Iowa has set caucuses for February 8, 2020, and the state convention for February 29, 2020. We will have an early state convention due to the passage of HF692 in the last legislative session. Candidates running under the designation of Libertarian for state offices must file their nominating papers by March 13, 2020, far earlier than in prior years.
We send out two email newsletters a month, and the occasional other email, to help keep voters and activists informed. We invite you to sign up and learn more about the Polk County Libertarian Party of Iowa.
